What is Gematria?
Gematria is a traditional Jewish system of assigning numerical values to words or phrases based on their letters. Each letter in the Hebrew alphabet is associated with a number, and by calculating the sum of the numbers in a word, scholars and enthusiasts explore deeper meanings and connections within the Hebrew Bible. An equivalent system, known as isopsephy, exists in the Greek alphabet and is present in the New Testament, offering another layer of interpretation for biblical texts.
What is an Interlinear Bible?
An interlinear Bible is a version of the scriptures where the original language text (such as Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek) is presented alongside a direct English translation. This format allows readers to see the literal translation of each word, facilitating a deeper understanding of the text. Additionally, interlinear Bibles often include grammatical information and Strong's Concordance numbers to assist with word studies and detailed Bible research.
What is Strong's Concordance?
Strong's Concordance is an index of every word in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, along with the original Hebrew or Greek word it was translated from. Each word is assigned a unique reference number (Strong's number), which helps readers easily locate its original meaning and usage in the Bible. This tool is invaluable for conducting detailed word studies and understanding the deeper meanings behind the biblical text.
